Port Dickson, after a night of battling with storms

rain like this for hours

approaching Langkawi on a beam reach at nearly 8 knots

anchorage Langkawi at Pulau Buntung

Sunset in Langkawi

Sometimes the weather is bad

but then there is an air show with the famous Red Arrows

19 December, shopping in Langkawi for vegetables for the
next 10 days

first night anchoring by moon light in an otherwise pitch dark
environment

nice sail to Ko Tarutao (Thailand), approaching the anchorage for
the night

after some navigation exercises (tidal height) entering the
'Hole in the Wall', an estuary in the NE part of Langkawi

at anchor in the 'Hole in the Wall'. The entrance of the 'Hole' is
in the background

but otherwise surrounded by rocky hills

a little inwards is a fish farm and a seafood restaurant

and of course Mabel had pepper crab

exploring the mangroves by dinghy is a 'must'

mud, oysters and crabs at low tide

the estuary goes miles land inwards and can be well explored by
dinghy

sometimes there are caves that can be navigated

a sea eagle diving for his meal, a common sight in the estuary
and in Langkawi in general

for breakfast a 'Dutch styled' pancake with onions, bacon and
tomatoes

under spinakker in light winds for another anchorage

Mabel
making bread for the hungry crew

and a result to be proud of!

and another perfect sunset!

a shower at one of the waterfalls in Langkawi, the 'Seven Wells'

some prefer a bath.....

January 1st: prosit on another perfect sailing year

It was still dark when I left Langkawi for Singapore on January
7th with a nice breeze of 15 to 18 knots from the beam

I had just dropped anchor in Penang south of Pulau Jerejak when
a thunderstorm passed over me. All the collected salt on the
deck was washed away

on the way to Pangkor: NE wind in the morning...

SW wind (sea breeze) in the afternoon

on day three, Pangkor behind me in the early morning

Port Klang, just before dark and in heavy rain. I anchored between Tanjung Gila and Tanjung Balai

I left Port Klang very early to catch a favorable current, passing Tanjung
Rhu at 7 am

Port Dickson was left before day break for the same reason. The lighthouse at Tanjung Tuan (Cape Ricardo) showed the way.
